This super simple project is so fun and easy. Here is what you need

  • FABRIC: depending on the size of your board get enough to cover it plus 3-4 inches extra all the way around.
  • Matching thread
  • 1/4 inch elastic: depends again on the size of your board but around 2 yards.
  • Safety pin

1. Take your nasty old ironing board that you look at everyday and kiss the uglyness goodbye! *MWAH*

2. Lay your ironing board upside down on your fabric and cut or trace and cut about 3 inches from the board.

3. Make a casing by pressing a 1/4 inch of the fabric in all the way around...

and then pressing 1/2 inch all the way around.

4. Sew around about 1/8 of an inch fron the edge of the casting...

leaving a opening about 2 inches un-sewn

5. Grab a large saftey pin and secure it well to the end of your elastic. Thread it all the way around the casing and out the other side.

6. Fit the cover onto the ironing board and adjust the elastic until you have a good fit.

Cut the elastic and sew back and forth a few times to secure the two ends together. Top stitch you 2 inch gap and

7. Stretch it over you board for a stunning new look!
